Would you agree that promises made to the poor children are rarely kept? Why do you think this happens in the incidents narrated in the text? - Lost Spring by Anees Jung

Promises made to the poor children of this world are astonishingly a lot but they are rarely kept.Governments Charities and at even international levels can't keep their promises. They promise to provide healthy lives, education, protection against child abuse, exploitation and to help them combat against diseases. Yet it is estimated that 246 million children are engaged in child labor. Parents exploit children's childhood which affects their adulthood. Thus crimes are common in slum areas.
As mentioned in the text, slum societies completely exploit children, generation after generations. Millions of girls are domestic servants and still millions are sex workers. Regardless of what situations may look like there always remains hope in their eyes that one day someone will get them out of it and lit the light. Perhaps that would be not someone from the outside but rather someone among them. But most would be like Sahed and Savita as mentioned by the author.
