1) Conflicts in Brother Man include conflicts between :
Girlie and Papacita which is external conflict. Papacita and Girlie have a dysfunctional relationship which leads to conflict throughout their relationship.
Jesmina has internal conflict. She constantly struggles with the decision to leave Cordelia and move on with her life with Shine or to stay and take care of her sister.
Jesmina also has external conflict with Cordelia. Jesmina and Cordelia are sisters. Jesmina starts to resent her sister when she finds out her sister is involved in obeah.
Minette has internal conflict. She is conflicted with her emotions for Brother Man.
Papacita has external conflict with Brother Man. This arises due to Papacita's envy of Brother Man and Minnette relationship.

2) Internal conflict is a mental or emotional struggle that occurs within a character.
External conflict is a struggle that occurs between a character and outside forces, which could be another character.

3) Three types or irony are:
 Dramatic irony is when words and actions possess a significance that the listener or audience understands, but the speaker or character does not.
 Verbal irony is a difference of expression and intention
Situational irony is defined as when the result of an action is contrary to the desired or expected effect.

4) Irony is a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually stated. Brother Man's character experiences situational irony.
brother Man was seen as a healer and miracle worker and was much praised in his community. Ironically when a woman is raped an they suspect a"bearded man" of committing the crime they quickly turn on Rastafarians including Brother Man, as a result of their anger they beat Brother Man severely.
